SUPER STAR 60/100 cm Acrylic paints on canvas

The Superstar

The Star came from the Strange City. She left at the age of 15 and went to the Shining City. “She has talent,” some specialists told her mother, “and we will take care of her. We will show her gift — trust us.”

And so it happened. Soon, everyone in the Shining City knew the Superstar. She enjoyed her success and worked tirelessly. She may have been famous, but in her work she was persistent and disciplined — more than anyone else.

At 23, the entire Blue Galaxy knew her. The higher she climbed, the harder she worked. She was talented, intelligent, and beautiful. Her opinion carried weight, she dined in luxury — but if you looked behind her, you would see two hundred others feeding off her.

The Superstar was bold! She didn’t fit into cliques. She knew that with sheep, you end up a goat. The pressure grew, and behind her the two hundred lingered — but still, she stood alone in the space. Dresses that glittered, though she longed for simple clothes. Love stories were staged for her though they weren’t real. And every time she won, she was sadder.

Then she met the Guardian, who was like her. Talent overflowing, fame reaching far. She liked him, she wanted him, she said she loved him.

“I want to go home because I’m tired…” she said.
And the Guardian offered her the quick way.

She reached her home and saw her loved ones, embraced her mother and her little dog, and landed with tears in her eyes. She missed the carefree warmth of her nest.

And so she kept asking for the quick way. She returned home again and again and felt good. But the landing was always hard… After too many trips, her heart stopped. She came close to death — and once again the Guardian appeared in her dreams. Softly, he whispered in her ear, taking her money:
“When you are a Superstar, you must not be afraid.”

The news reached her mother’s door…

Our Superstar left, for the long journey, only twenty-eight years old.

They call it drugs.

Farewell, Superstar.
